SOFTWARE PERFORMANCE TOOL & COMPOSITION FOR CELLO

'The Reactifello' is a unique method of enhancing creative performance for Cello. The cellist can play more expressively through responsive synthesis and movement-triggered audio effects. A 3-axis accelerometer is attached to the bow of the Cello to track the movement. By altering the position of the bow, one of four audio effects can be triggered and applied within a Max/MSP patch. Another part of this Max patch simultaneously plays back intervals behind the cello to act as a synthesized accompanist, enhancing the player’s ability to have a fuller performance. The original composition 'Bewegung I' fully demonstrates the capabilities of The Reactifello.
